Letters to the Farts

Each one of the Farts and Fartesses are proud to say that:

‘We do what we do – for you!’

I remember many years ago, a very wise woman* told me when I joined a group voluntarily – You will really enjoy your time with (insert name of group here) as long as you don’t expect anyone to say Thank-You.

Occasionally though the Old Farts are extemely proud to receive letters of gratitude or recommendations on Facebook for their kindness of thought and deed. Here are a few of those letters…

VIRGINIA DENLEY-HILL

recommends Old Farts Fundraising Cycling Group.

7th January 2010 at 11:34

He was going to have Stem cell transplant with high dose chemo in London but just before Christmas he was turned down as he has a pre-existing damaged kidneys. He has a long road still to travel, which will include open heart surgery, but the help the ‘Old Farts Fundraising Cycling Group ‘ gave me financial has bowled me over. The generosity is beyond what I thought it might be, what thus group does helps families like mine survive a little bit longer and I cannot thank them enough.
So yes I recommend this group and might go get myself a bike to join them.
Thank you all so very much xx
Virginia

Response from the Old Farts

Old Farts Fundraising Cycling Group Thank you for your kind words. We are so pleased we could do something to help your son and the family with what you are going through.
You are very welcome to join us, as a cyclist or as one of our amazing support team, without whom we would not be able to achieve all we do. We wish you all the best for the future and look forward to receiving updates.
Kind regards,
The Old Farts.

For the last few years, my dad along with a number of other special men and women complete a yearly challenging cycle ride 🚲, training constantly and riding long distances to raise money for deserving people. This year I asked them if it was possible that one of those deserving people could be an amazing little girl and her family who are so close to my heart who i know deserve a holiday of a lifetime and they said yes! Today some of the Old Farts gang presented the cheque to Mared and her family who can now book that holiday and make amazing memories together! ❤️
So I just wanted to say a massive thank you to all the Old Farts, the riders, the people in the background, the people who sponsored and supported them, you are all amazing! xx

ROSS TAYLOR

Hi Paul, Al, Chrissy, Wally pad Gary and many many more.

Just wanted u to know that we have booked our cruise so excited! its next June and Ross chose it as he wanted to go to to Northern Europe – we are going with Royal Caribbean and will visit Denmark Norway Finland Estonia Russia and Belgium. We can’t believe it and were able to have a disabled room with a balcony for Ross. He is over the moon and can’t wait to go. You have made our dreams come true as we did not think we would be able to go abroad again. Ross now has a wonderful holiday to look forward to and we will have memories that will last forever. No words can express our gratitude for all the fundraising the hard work and dedication. We are gobsmacked by the money raised and can’t thank you enough keep up the good work and hope to see you soon.

Lots of love

DAISY WYATT’S MOTHER

Old farts-

I am so so sorry, I haven’t had chance to send any email.

Not only am I trying to cope with daisy but my little 6 year old broke his wrist playing karate, that was 3 weeks ago, when it rains it pours!!

We’ve come down our caravan just to get away from everything for a few days. Daisy’s ok, just taking a day at a time, I’m mentally exhausted.

I’ve finished with now and just concentrating on getting by everyday seeing us all through this horrendous time.

Life is hectic with nurses, hospitals, visitors and my phone doesn’t stop!

Just manic. I wish I could run away from it all some days.

Thankyou for everything you’ve done for us and continue to do for everybody. Please pass on my thanks x x from

The bottom of my heart x x
